I got this to use with my Windows 10 laptop, for instances when I needed to change camera position. The built in doesn’t allow that, so this auxiliary camera works better.I plugged this unit in and it worked seamlessly out of the box. No difficult install or permissions.I have not received any complaints about audio or video quality. This camera has worked just fine for me and allows a greater flexibility than my built in camera.

These days, almost every home and office is using laptops with built-in webcams. These are useful when one works directly from the laptop, but what about those office setups that utilize external monitors and may even have the laptop closed in “clamshell mode”. In these cases, one needs an external camera such as the FORITO Webcam with Microphone.I experienced no issues hooking the webcam up to my Windows 10 PC. It was recognized out of the box with no need for additional drivers or software, which is a huge plus when considering non-mainstream brands.The camera worked great in Microsoft Teams video chats though the focal length is a bit closer than I would have liked. My desk setup has camera about 15 or so inches from my face, and it’s clear from the video captured that it is close. I was unable to find any means to adjust or zoom, so it’s something to keep I mind if your setup is close like mine. The resolution is fantastic for conference calls and the image is crisp and clear.I really liked the LED indicator lights on the front-right of the camera. There is an always-on red power LED in the shape of the “power” symbol as an indication the camera is plugged in. When the camera is actually being used, a second green indicator is lit on the front-left. This makes it easy to remember when you are visible in case your app is currently hidden behind documents.The mount is also a little bit looser than I would have liked as the camera can shift around when placed on top of a monitor. It’s physically light, so slight variations on the USB cable can cause it to move. In addition, the ability to rotate the camera along the z-axis would have been useful considering not all monitors are set up to be 90 degrees to the user. That said, it does include a standard tripod screw which opens the door for additional mounting accessories, though that does add to the overall cost. Minus one star for weak mounting support.In summary, the camera is simple to use (you can’t beat not having to install any software), the video is clear, and the additional LED indicators make this one fantastic little webcam.Update: I usually go back and edit reviews if, after a long period of time, a device fails or doesn’t continue to live up to the original standards. I have dropped a start from the review as the video captured by this camera now has a few vertical lines of bad pixels (purple distortion) during use.
